Diocono Juan Carlos Carnero |
Dear Fr. Brando
Fr B, Happy 25th Anniversary of your ordination! You are an immense blessing to this Parish Community of St. Mary Help of Christians (Paterson, NJ). You are also a big blessing to me because you are not only my pastor but I found a very good friend in you. I appreciate all the prayers that you say and offer for me, and I firmly believe that you will continue to pray for me as long as I live; you are my ticket to Heaven!!! I am grateful for your leadership, and unwavering and generous service to the parishioners of St. Mary Help of Christians Church and to all people you minister to. Most of all, I am thankful for your friendship, and guidance to me. Because of this, I will continue to ask God to encourage your heart as you encouraged mine. I will always ask the Blessed Mother Mary to keep you under her mantle, near her heart, to be your constant guide until you reach Heaven. I will ask Jesus, the Eternal Priest, to keep you within the shelter of His Most Sacred Heart, where none can touch you. And with the help of your angels - St. Michael, the Archangel, and Asaliah, your guardian angel of truth and virtue - to guide, protect, and support you everyday, protecting you against malicious gossips and slandermongers, who want to defame your reputation.
I wish you ALL the best, Fr. B. May the Almighty God and Father bless you good health and strengthen your heart to be radiant with love to serve in HIS Vineyard tirelessly forever. So be it. So may it be.
With all my Prayers,
Paula Cecilia Organista

Dear Fr. Brando
Congratulations Father Brando on your Twenty Fifth Anniversary.
As a Priest, You have dedicated your life to spreading the Good News of the Gospel to all who would hear, both now at St. Mary’s Parish and at all the previous parishes in which you have worked.
Today is your day to celebrate with your friends all you have accomplished (with the help of God) in the last twenty five years and to feel the love directed at you. You often say you love being a priest and this shows in everything you do. You always have time to talk to your parishoners and give advice. You have the gift of giving sermons which are inspirational and never boring. They start out being down to earth but end up leading your listeners to a deeper understanding of our faith.
Today is a day to thank God for sending you to St. Mary’s and then to eat, drink, dance and be merry.
Again, Congratulations Father Brando!
Always,
Filomena Mohr

My Dearest Fr. Brando
Returning to St Mary Help of Christians Church after many years became clear I made the right decision. You have made me and the people of this Parish feel welcome and appreciated. Your dedication is the reason we all return week after week. You always manage to put a father Brando into your sermons which is relevant and even has a touch of your humor. Thank you for making St Mary Help of Christians Church a special place. Congratulations on your 25 Anniversary as a Priest. God Bless You Always. Linda Raymond. |
Dear Fr. Brando
A few years ago, I decided to reaffirm my faith and get involved with the church. I had been to St. Mary's before, but not regularly. I started going to the 7:30 am Sunday mass and on my 3rd week in a row, the priest came out and sat down next to me before mass. Fr. Brando introduced himself and told me how welcome I was and how happy he was that I was there. He then asked me about myself, and we spoke for a few minutes. He again told me how welcome I was and how happy he was that I was there.
I was so amazed at the outward display of caring and interest he showed me, someone he did not know. I grew up in an English speaking parish in another state and I had, honestly, never felt such warmth in such abundance before. I know it was God telling me that He was happy about my presence at Holy Mass as well.
I have since started Lectoring and helping out with the music at St. Mary's as much as possible, with the eagerness of someone who has heard a calling, because I want to do what I can to spread the Good News of The Lord and help others to feel the Power of The Holy Spirit as I have.
I am inspired to act more like a Child of God and not so much as one of this world. I remind myself daily that with Love and understanding, I am able to be heard by so many people, and to bring a little of the love that Christ shows me into the lives of others. I have heard Fr. Brando remind us all that, "Fr. Brando doesn't perform miracles, only God does". Fr. Brando is definitely one of my most favorite examples of all God's miracles.
Father Brando, I wish you all the joy and happiness you bring to each and every one of us everyday.
All my Love,
Thomas Isaac Molloy

Tribute to Fr. Brando
Congratulations Fr. Brando Ibarra on the Silver Jubilee of your Priestly Ministry! I want to take a moment to celebrate you and the incredible person you are! Your love and dedication to God’s Kingdom, your kindness and strength, touched us and the lives of everyone around you. Together with my family, we extend our profound thanks for your love, friendship, and the outpouring support you have shown us over the years since we met you as the then newly assigned Pastor of St. Anthony Padua Church of Passaic, New Jersey. Very thankful to have grown in your presence and guidance and to have actively engaged in the Church by becoming a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, President of the Filipino-American Community of St. Anthony (FACSA) and part of the Parish Finance Committee.
Fr. Brando, your deep love and charismatic approach to all parishioners and church attendees at St. Anthony had tremendously enhanced friendship and camaraderie amongst us. Being our church with a multi-racial congregation, you made all feel special and loved. You dedicated time and support working with all the ministries in carrying out the Church’ plans, programs and calendar of activities/events. To us, the Filipino-American Community of St. Anthony Church (FACSA) , you showed special interest in learning and understanding our Filipino culture, values and traditions. You have given all out support and enhanced the yearly celebrations of the Feast of Sto, Nino, the Easter “Salubong”, the Santacruzan and May Flower Festival Offering in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary our Mother, the Feast of the Filipino Saints- San Lorenzo Ruiz & San Pedro Calungsod, the 9-days Novena Masses during Advent so called Simbang Gabi and the week-end Family Home Visitation propagating Sto. Nino devotion among families & with the meditation/recitation of the Holy Rosary. The Filipino youth have also actively participated in the church activities, meeting quarterly, joined the Choir and into stage performance with the presentation of the beautiful 1st & last Christmas Tableau under the guidance and direction of Gloria Otilano and myself.
Fr. Brando, in all his piousness as a Priest is a fun-loving and adventurous person who loves to sing and dance. His high Mass with him singing hymns & worship songs takes us to greater heights in our worship and adoration of our Lord Jesus Christ! And during his time as Pastor of St. Anthony Church, he squeezed into his schedule and made time and effort to visit our native country Philippines on January 2015 which coincided with Pope Francis visit to the Philippines. With Fr. Jun Vidal Gonzalez and Editha Sindico, we made him feel the hospitality and love of the Filipino people. We toured him around Metro Manila, Cebu City and Boracay, Aklan province. Included in this tour were visitations and attendance of Masses at the Quiapo Church- Shrine of Jesus the Nazarene, Binondo Church- Shrine of San Lorenzo Ruiz & San Pedro Calungsod, St. Agustin Church, and Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Baclaran. The Manila Cathedral and Luneta/Rizal Park were cordoned off at the time due to Pope Francis visit for security reasons. So we were only able to go into Fort Santiago and he had a good glimpse of the fortress where the Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal was incarcerated. Fr. Brando enjoyed the “Kalesa” ride - horse driven cart around Intramuros. He also had enjoyed the aerial panoramic view of greater Manila area on top of a hill in Antipolo City at Padis Point.
From Manila, we took Fr. Brando to Boracay Beach, Aklan & Cebu City. He experienced participating in the Sto. Nino procession on the streets of Cebu City with a very long and crowded route. It was also a sunny day with high humidity which didn’t bother him at all! On the following day, he concelebrated the 10AM Feast Day Mass at the 3-story Facade of the Cathedral and gave communions to the people. He donated back to the Church the stipend that was given to him.
Fr. Brando was transferred to St. Mary’s Help of Christians Church in Paterson, New Jersey in the Fall of 2015. We were saddened by his transfer but at the same time also understand the vocation and the need for our priests to reach out to as many people in their Priestly Ministry. In this way, both the priests and the people will grow more in knowledge, wisdom and understanding of God’s Kingdom. For one’s touch to the other would bring more life and light into each other. While at St. Mary’s Help of Christian Church, he organized a pilgrimage tour to Israel in 2017 which my late husband and I joined. In this trip, we not only saw and walked through the landscape where Jesus, our Lord and Savior walked but also had renewed our baptism at the Jordan River and our matrimonial vows at the Church of Cana. Truly an incredible and amazing journey with Fr. Brando and of course our Lord Jesus Christ.
Am forever grateful for Fr. Brando’s love, friendship, and all out support he has shown me and my family over the years. During our tough moments in life most especially when my husband and son got sick and during the pandemic, his prayers and encouragement and presence gave me the strength to carry through. And again, when Roger - my husband, and Bernard - my son passed away, Fr. Brando’s presence, support and loving kindness tremendously helped me and my other sons & family cope with and through those difficult times. Again, thank you so much Fr. Brando! We pray you’ll always be in good health and for many many years of abundance in your Ministry as you shepherd all the people God gives you!
We love you!!!

My Dearest Brando
Vividly in my mind, I will always remember February 13, 2002, Ash Wednesday at St. Gerard's Church when the Lord place you in my Spiritual Life and we became Family.
I am honored to be part of your religious life and journey with Christ. You have shown me the infinite GREATNESS of the LORD.
Following you to St Anthony of Padua, where you were installed as Pastor, was where I grew Spiritually as I joined the Youth Ministry and followed my heart's yearning to become a Eucharistic Minister.
My most cherished religious memories were at that time in my life. Participating in the elaborate theatrical masses and the Holy Thursday Church hopping were my most favorite events. Let us not forget the celebration of my parent's 50th anniversary at the "Little Church with the BIG HEART. We had family from all over the world who attended the Mass and reception.
I am joyful to celebrate your 25th Anniversary with you. May you continue to be sustained by His Grace, and may your life in God's service always be filled with JOY.
Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary as a PRIEST.
All my love always,
Luciana

Fr. Brando, You are a Priest Forever in the line of Melchizedek,
To Our Dear Fr. Brando,
In behalf of my entire family, I am congratulating you on your Silver Jubilee as a Priest. As you know, you are the best that happened in my entire family circle. Because, you have manifested yourself as servant of God: You are an educator, you are kindhearted, a God-fearing man that you can be friend and trust. You are the servant of God in times of needs and difficulties. You inspire your Parishioners by increasing our Trust, Faith, Love, and Charity all for the Glory of God. Your strength in leading your congregation is inspiring. You have the zest to move us Spiritually and Physically. Your unending love to your Parishioners is undoubtedly genuine.
My family has been inspired by your charisma in taming us closer to God. You are the Servant of God that does not stop educating us on how to love God. As the pianist, organist, vocalist, and musician of St Mary Help of Christians Church since 1996 to the present, I haven't seen a remarkable priest so intelligent that sings around the town every time we have procession. You lead us by singing and praying for you know that by singing draws us much closer to God. We have witnessed you repeating, mastering the songs until it is properly sung beautifully before the presence of the Lord. I enjoy playing during the bilingual masses when the English and Spanish Congregation merge together into one beautiful Celebration singing Spanish and English songs rolled into one making us parishioners united into one big family of God.
As parishioner of St Mary Help of Christians Church, you always nag us to confess and receive the Host, the Lamb of God appropriately with decency and respect before the Altar of the Lord. You always lead us to becoming a better person and Christian in the eyes of God.
Fr. Brando, again thank you for your wondrous deeds. You are a blessing in our family and in St Mary Help of Christians Church. Your love for your vocation is your charity. Your humility as the Servant of God is truly pure. Thank you for being a Wonderful Priest and a True Servant of God. You will be in our prayers and in our hearts forever.
As Always from our hearts,
The Lacuesta Family,
Grace, Nino, Angie, Blue Bee & Loki
